Health Starts at Home

Welcome to Wyer Wellness!

I am Sarah Wyer, a Naturopathic Doctor practicing for the last fifteen years in the Guelph community. In August 2012, my husband and I opened the Wyer Wellness Centre, where I now run my practice along with a talented group of four other health care practitioners. The Wyer Wellness Centre hopes to provide a caring, gentle and resourceful place for our clients and community.

Over the last decade and a half I have been providing naturopathic health care for families in the Guelph and area community. I am passionate about teaching and empowering families and individuals to look at health care in a different way. As a licensed Naturopathic Doctor, I am trained to treat both acute illness and work at preventing chronic disease using a variety of naturopathic tools. I believe that health starts in the home, and that as a health care professional it is my job to provide tools and support to families and individuals choosing to take responsibility for their health.

My practice provides family-focused naturopathic care.  I believe that the dietary choices families make and the priority we place on our emotional and physical wellbeing will influence a child's opinions and approach to health and self care for years to come. Wherever you and your family are on your journey toward health and wellness, I believe education, support and a holistic approach form the basis of a supportive health care relationship and I strive to provide that for all my patients.

Biography

I am originally from Nova Scotia where I graduated from Acadia University in 2000. Following this, I attended the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto, ON and after graduation in 2004 I worked in locum positions filling maternity leaves for other NDs all over Ontario. Finally, I decided to settle down in a Naturopathic practice here in Guelph. Although far from my family, the community of Guelph is so warm and vibrant that the decision to practice in this area was an easy one.

Some of the extra training I have completed includes many seminars and courses in Childrens' health, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Doula Training, women's health, mental health, integrating genetics and lifestyle, and homeopathic lymphatic drainage. As well as doing educational talks in schools, The Running Room and in other workplace environments and community groups here in Guelph, I have taught students at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine and mentored future ND candidates. My other interests include running, working out, skiing, yoga and enjoying lots of quality time with family and friends.
